Spyware Deletion

Online parasites could be of any type and are generally referred by different names like spyware, adware, Trojans, viruses, pests, keyloggers and more. If your computer is infested with any of the spywares, the following steps can be undertaken to tackle the situation. The important phases of deletion are: backup, stop the malware from running, checking for errors, deleting the malware and a last precautionary measure of preventing it from happening again.

First up, disconnect the machine, which is infected from the rest of the PCs in the network. This will ensure the spyware and other pests doesn't get spread among the rest of the machines. If possible, go for a disk image backup using a bootable CD or any other bootable device. The backup can be made on any external device like CDs, external hard disk or DVDs. In the second stage, shrink the Windows partition and copy the same as a hidden partition on the hard disk.

In the second stage, make a registry backup. Prevent the malware from running while booting the system. This should be preferably done from Safe Mode. Check your network places. If you find anything suspicious, delete it straightaway.

Thirdly, check for other errors. Ensure that malware is the only persisting problem. Now, you can run the anti-virus and anti-spyware software to clear the mess. Assuming that your system is infected, run the system outside of the windows, preferably from a bootable CD. After booting is complete, remove the relatively honest spyware through Add/Remove Programs in the control panel. Once this is done, delete all temporary files, cookies, web browser history and empty the recycle bin.

Then make use of any of the cleaner program that is available. It is recommended to use the Best Spyware Removal Software Program like Ad-Aware, McAfee AVERT Stinger or AntiVir PersonalEdition Classic. The advantage of these software is that they don't have to be installed, but can be run from a flash drive. Then again, reboot normally. This should hopefully, remove the remaining spyware.

In the last stage, set up a firewall program and run it. Log on to the Internet and scan the hard disk for virus. For the second time running, spyware needs to be deleted at this stage. After this is done, run Windows Update manually, adjust IE settings, disable messenger service, and delete TEMP files. Install an anti-spyware product and keep it up to date. To prevent future attacks from online parasites, learn the safe Internet techniques and practice them.
